Product usage

1. In the casting industry, bentonite serves as the largest consumer of this mineral. It is predominantly utilized in clay-bonded sand systems due to its strong adhesive properties, high plasticity, excellent film removal characteristics, superior air permeability, and stable physical and chemical behavior under high-temperature and humid conditions.
2. In drilling mud applications, bentonite ranks as the second-largest user. Owing to its exceptional water absorption capabilities, it is employed to cool drill bits, remove cuttings, stabilize well walls, and balance ground pressure during oil and gas drilling operations. Bentonite's excellent dispersibility and high yield make it an ideal material for formulating drilling mud.
3. In iron ore pelletization, bentonite is the third-largest consumer. It plays a critical role in enhancing the cohesion and structural integrity of iron ore pellets.
4. As a desiccant, bentonite exhibits adsorption activity, static dehumidification, and odor removal capabilities. It is widely used in the dry air storage of products that cannot be sealed with oil or gas, such as optical instruments, electronic devices, medical supplies, food packaging,, and civilian goods. Compared to silica gel, bentonite offers advantages such as lower cost, faster adsorption rates, and reduced preparation expenses.
