Dolomite crystal belongs to the trigonal crystal system and is a carbonate mineral. Its chemical composition is CaMg(CO3)2. It often has accessory elements such as iron and manganese (substituting for magnesium). When the number of iron or manganese atoms exceeds that of magnesium, it is called iron dolomite or manganese dolomite. Trigonal crystal system, the crystal is in the form of a rhombohedron, the crystal faces are often curved into saddle shapes, and polycrystalline double crystals are common. The aggregate usually appears as granular. Pure ones are white; when containing iron, they are gray; after weathering, they turn brown. Glassy luster. It is the main mineral component of dolomite.

1.In the field of refractory materials: Calcined magnesia is the core raw material for alkaline refractory materials. 4.Metallurgy and Metal Extraction: As a flux for blast furnace ironmaking, it optimizes the smelting process. Additionally, dolomite with a particle size of 30 to 120mm is an important raw material for producing magnesium metal. The smelting methods mainly include electrolysis and silicon-reduction methods. 
5.Environmental protection and water treatment: By leveraging its excellent adsorption properties, it can be utilized to treat pollutants such as heavy metal ions and organic substances in wastewater, thereby achieving the purification and treatment of the wastewater. 
6.Other applications: It is also used in fields such as paint, pesticides and medicine. For instance, it can be used as a pigment for bodies, a soil conditioner, or an additive for animal feed, etc.
